Shaping Environments for What Comes Next

Our work brings together strategy, interior architecture, and engineering to deliver built environments that are considered, adaptable, and grounded in how people actually use space.

We work closely with clients to understand context, constraints, and long-term goals — translating that insight into environments that support people, organisations, and communities over time.

The Principles That Inform Our Work

Grounded in insight, evidence, and real-world conditions.

01

Strategy Before Form

Discovery comes first, establishing direction before design decisions are made.

02

People, Purpose, and Context

Design responds to human needs, organisational intent, and place.

03

Evidence Led Design Thinking

Data and observation inform ideas, testing, and iteration.

04

Integration from the Start

Strategy, design, engineering, and sustainability are aligned early.

05

Safety and Code Compliance

Regulatory and safety requirements are embedded in the design process.

06

Sustainability in Practice

Environmental responsibility is embedded in every design decision, from performance to longevity.

Our Integrated Approach

Strategy-led services across architecture, design, and engineering.

Workplace Strategy

An evidence-based service that studies how people actually use the built-environment. Using data, observation, and operational insight, we uncover how space is used, where it breaks down, and what needs to change before design begins. The outcome is a clear, defensible direction for space, operations, and investment.

Integrated Engineering Design

Engineering is embedded from day one, not added later. Early input shapes key decisions around performance, systems, constructability, and cost, reducing rework and aligning design with how the building will function.

Architecture

Architecture grounded in technical rigour and long term performance. We design buildings as part of a larger system, responding to context, climate, and use, so they contribute meaningfully to their environment and remain relevant over time.

Interior Architecture and Design

We design interiors that perform, not just look good. Decisions are driven by how people use space, how systems operate, and how environments support wellbeing. Quality comes from clarity, proportion, and discipline, not surface treatment.

Design Delivery Partner

We integrate with your team to deliver design development, documentation, and project ready outputs. Combining technical depth with local market knowledge, we ensure ideas translate clearly into buildable, coordinated solutions.

Experience & Brand Strategy

We define how brand translates into space. Establishing principles that guide spatial planning, user experience, and design consistency, so environments feel aligned, intentional, and recognisable across every touchpoint.

Built-environment ESG Advisory

We turn ESG goals into practical design decisions. Integrating environmental performance, operational efficiency, and long-term resilience into the way spaces are planned, built, and used.

The Vision Behind the Practice

Built on curiosity, purpose, and a belief that design shapes how we live and work.

IDr. Charisse Gail Rhodes, MDes

Chief of Workplace Strategy and Principal Designer

With over fourteen years of experience in commercial interior architecture and workplace strategy, Charisse leads id8 with a strategy-first, evidence-led approach. She is a licensed interior design professional with a Master’s degree in Design from UNSW Sydney, Australia.

Her work integrates strategy, architecture, and engineering to help organisations make informed decisions about space and long-term performance. id8 operates as an integrated practice, delivering environments that are buildable, sustainable, and accountable to the people and communities they serve.

Design should improve how people work, live, and connect.

The People Behind the Work

Architects, Designers, and Engineers shaping every project together.

At id8, our culture is built on how we work together.

We value leadership, integrity, and excellence not as ideals, but as daily practice. Each individual brings a unique strength to the studio, and together we create an environment rooted in respect, shared ownership, and collaboration. It’s this collective mindset that allows us to shape spaces and futures with purpose.
