Design Reminiscent of Home into the Workplace

February 15, 2022

After working from home for quite a few years now because of the pandemic, people became accustomed to the comfort that work-from-home set-up provided. However, home is primarily a place for relaxation, rest, and personal activities, and there must be a healthy boundary between work and personal engagements.

To encourage the workforce to return to the office spaces, it is critical to integrate elements and amenities that are reminiscent of home into the workplace; this would give them a sense of familiarity in their environment and help their adjustment in going back to a regular workspace become easier.

Integrating the comfort of home into the workplace and establishing a clear work area enables us to educate our employees in creating healthy boundaries between the time they spend resting and working.

Introducing additional amenities like employee lounge, sleeping corners, fitness lounge, break-out areas, and space for flexible work set-up can make the workplace have a sense of coziness and familiarity. In addition, softer seating options, plush area rugs, and allowing employees to accomplish quick personal tasks during workdays would also be in demand for the new workplace strategies.

The current workplace design trends are now revolving around employees’ safety and well-being, improving collaboration in the office, and increasing the workforce’s productivity by providing their shifting needs.
